In Gulf culture, bakhoor is burned before guests arrive, during family gatherings, and on special occasions like Eid and Ramadan.

What does oud smell like?

Oud (agarwood) has a rich, complex scent that is deep and woody with sweet, smoky, and slightly animalic notes. It is one of the most prized fragrance ingredients in the world, central to Arabian perfumery. Indian oud is darker and earthier, while Cambodian oud is sweeter and more resinous. Oud is used in perfumes, candles, diffuser oils, and burned directly as incense.
